will fall on Sunday 25 April 2010
There will be considerable changes from last year so keep an eye on this page.
Public Viewing - Please come and cheer us on our way from key points along the route. All times are approximate - our vehicles range from pre-1930 cars that struggle up hills(or anywhere else, come to that) to 1970's sports cars that have performance similar to modern cars. And of course there will be some commercial vehicles and motor bikes. The sights, sounds and smells will be quite memorable. We will leave the start at 10:15 and finish at any time from 12:00 onwards, We suggest that you get in your viewing position in plenty of time, allowing an average speed of 35mph for the fastest of us.
General We expect there to be around 50 participant vehicles. The run will be advertised in the Newsletters of
Horsham Historics, the
Morris Register and the Alvis Owner Club. We are hoping for some 'airtime' on
Bright Radio again this year. The event is treated as a 'Preview' to our Show on 10/11 July at
Ardingly & virtually all the Drive it Day entrants will be exhibiting at the Show. The finishing point cannot accommodate large vehicles so as last year there will be two routes, one that large vehicles can use and one which will be restricted to cars, light commercials & motorcycles.
Entry forms can be downloaded from here and emailed direct...

Thanks to all who took part last year, our sponsors and the local radio station - Bright Radio for their interest. And thanks to our volunteers who acted as marshals and co-ordinators. And a special thank you to the drivers of modern vehicles who showed restraint and respect when their speed was reduced by our slower vehicles. We hope you enjoyed the chance of seeing our vehicles doing what they were designed for. Pictures are here

Sunday 26 April 2009 pictures here.
It was an ideal day for driving and with so many vehicles we had to send some on their way early so there was room at the start. I have obliterated registration marks in the pictures. If any owner wants a copy of their car without this, please ask via the "mail me" link.
St John Ambulance - our charity for this year - was well represented at the start with first aid and collecting tins in readiness.
Thank you to those who took pictures and sent them to me.
The
webmaster's car did not reach the finish, so no dinner for him! The battery blew up. Hopefully someone will send me a bit of a write up.
